After Hurricane Beryl wreaked havoc in Texas, a touching story of hope emerged.
While navigating a storm-damaged highway, Heidi Somers Guzman, 35, and her husband Christian, 30, spotted a tiny, scared kitten darting across the road in Missouri City.
Thanks to Christian’s heroic instincts, the couple rescued the 8-week-old kitten, who they named Simba, and posted the heartwarming moment on TikTok.
The video quickly went viral, amassing over 1.1 million views, with many viewers cheering on their furry rescue!
Initially, they searched for Simba’s owners but, finding none, they embraced their new role as pet parents.
“He’s your baby now!” a user commented, while another joked they had “won the cat lottery!”
Heidi shared how Simba has completely won over her husband, stating, “This kitten has made my husband his person—I’m just the runner-up!”
Nalla, their husky, is still getting used to the new feline addition but is learning to tolerate Simba’s antics.
Now, Simba is thriving, and Heidi’s feed is filled with his adorable updates. What a purr-fect fur-ever home!
