What would you do if you spotted someone dangling over an interstate ramp?

You might think the worst, just like a concerned witness who contacted the Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS).

But here’s the sweet twist: the person was actually trying to rescue a stranded kitten!

This little white and tabby furball had somehow found her way to a precarious spot on a support pillar beneath a busy ramp in Tempe.

The man on the edge was doing his best to save her, but even firefighters couldn't reach her.

Enter the troopers, who ingeniously decided to go “catfishing” with a bucket!

First, they halted traffic and, with the help of a Good Samaritan who provided the bucket and rope, gently lowered it down to the frightened kitten.

Miraculously, she jumped right in! The trooper raised her safely, and the tiny explorer committed to a new adventure—she was adopted on the spot by her rescuer!

This heartwarming tale is a reminder that creativity and compassion can lead to surprising rescues!
