Stray Cat Gets Trapped in Basement of 300-Year-Old Church.

In the heart of London, a kind-hearted girl spotted a curious stray cat playing in the yard of the famous 300-year-old St. Paul's Cathedral.

But when the cat vanished under a concrete slab, the girl knew she had to act fast.

She contacted the RSPCA, and Officer Sidonie Smith bravely ventured into the church's unexplored basement to rescue the scared kitty.

Imagine descending into a dark, 300-year-old basement, only to find a nervous cat huddled on a bed of leaves!

That's exactly what Officer Smith did, and I'm so glad she did.

The cat, now named Paula, was covered in fleas and had a scratch on her chin but otherwise seemed okay.

Smith gently grasped Paula and together they escaped the creepy basement.After four hours in the dark, Paula is finally safe and sound.

The RSPCA is working to find her a forever home and plans to ensure that St. Paul's Cathedral grounds are safe for any animals who might wander in.
